CONSTELLATION PARK
Constellation Park lies along the shore of Puget Sound in West Seattle. A walk here, as the sun sets over the Olympic Mountains, should be a requirement for anyone wishing to call herself a Seattleite.
Nature-lovers, walk this park shoreline at low tide. The Seattle Aquarium often sends volunteers to help visitors identify intertidal life, and to remind visitors how to treat wildlife. From the Seattle Aquarium:
Beach etiquette:
While on the beach, please remember:
- Walk carefully; there’s life beneath your feet!
- Touch gently with one wet finger.
- Observe animals where they are and please avoid picking them up.
- Please only move rocks that are small enough to be moved with one hand and return them to the position in which you found them.
- Please only remove trash from the beach, nothing else. Many of our beaches are protected by law.
On a clear night it is a great place to look at the stars.

If you go, let us know if you see sea stars. They are making a come-back after being nearly wiped out by a horrible wasting disease.

My daughters and I went there yesterday. It was beautiful, there was a fence, sidewalk, and I saw huge waves, benches and little craps. When you keep walking on the sidewalk there is an animal sign for people to read. With pictures of whales, sea lions, and birds.
